Hi Mitch;
Most of my information comes from a cousin that's more closely related to that family.
Makes me wonder if Ivy May might have been adopted.

Rick,
Thanks for making your tree available to everyone.
I've been really puzzling over Ivy CLENDENNING BERKHEISER. I've got a pretty
complete picture of the CLENDENING family in Miami County after 1850, but I can't
place her with any family I know of. The earliest mention of her I can find is with the
William MOORE family (MORRIS in the Ancestry index) as his 13YO step-daughter. Her mother
seems to be the Sarah listed in the same family as Wm's wife, but marriage records
show her maiden name to be KERSHNER. And there is a Sarah KERSHNER of the correct age
living near Wm in the 1870 census (but without a daugher). Reading the two obituaries you
provide for Ivy shows that both family names are associated with her throughout her life.
It wasn't until recently that I realized I had combined Ivah Joy CLENDENING
(1853-1920) with your Ivy May CLENDENNING in my database. I incorrectly assumed Ivah had
remarried.
If you or anyone else can shed a light on this, I'd be one happy camper!
