Subject: [INMIAMI-L] Emaline (Emma) MURPHY NORRIS + Albert MILLER
Emaline MURPHY was born in Miami Co. November 14, 1850 to John MURPHY
and
Susannah (Unknown maiden name). Siblings are Merritt, William, and
Columbus MURPHY. She became the 2nd wife of Noah Anthony Wayne NORRIS
November 28, 1895 in Miami Co. and moved with Noah to the farm in
Newcastle
Twp., Fulton Co. The couple retired and moved to Rochester, Franklin
St.,
by 1910. Noah NORRIS died 21 May 1916 in Rochester and was buried by his
1st wife in Sycamore Cemetery, Newcastle Twp., Fulton Co. I understand
that Emma then went to live with a niece, Mrs. Albert MILLER of near Mud
Lake, according to Emma's obit in the Monday, June 23, 1924 edition of The
Rochester News-Sentinel. There are, however, known errors in this short
obit. I cannot find a local Albert MILLER in either Miami or Fulton Co.
1920 census. Where was Emma NORRIS in the 1920 census? Is the stated
niece a daughter of Merritt, William, or Columbus MURPHY? In the Miami
Co.
website at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~inmiami/dnvrtrib.html I find
reference to Emma's death: Death Index, 1920-1924 Murphy, Emeline, 23
June 1924, 14 Nov 1850 . Emma is buried in the Chili Cemetery with her
parents. Is there a "Denver Tribune" or Peru paper obituary?
Appreciate help from anyone who has access to the papers for a
lookup. Also need help in identifying Mrs. Albert MILLER.
I'm also working the Miami/Fulton/Marshall Co. BERKHEISER lines - have
quite a bit of info & can share.
Thanks much,
