Subject: [INMIAMI-L] Mary (Jennings) RAMER
I'm still trying to find information about Mary (JENNINGS) RAMER
and am
open to any tips or suggestions as to what to try next. Can you help me?
Mary (Jennings) Ramer was born in Coshocton County, OH to Lewis JENNINGS
and Susan (MILLER) JENNINGS circa 1846. The family moved to IN shortly
after her birth and she is found on the 1850 Harrison Twp., Miami
County, IN census showing as being 4 years old. Her older sister, Nancy
JENNINGS married John Harrison RAMER on December 28, 1850.
Mary's mother Susan died after the census was taken and Lewis moved his
family to Astoria, Fulton Co., IL. I've found all members of the
family on the IL censuses, EXCEPT for Mary. It appears to me that he
had left Mary with someone (but who?) and I believe in IN. She is not
with her married sister Nancy. She is not with any of the Jennings'
families.
When Mary's sister Julia Ann (JENNINGS) PARRY died on February 9, 1920
in Astoria, Fulton County, IL Julia's obituary says that her sister Mary
RAMER of Lafayette, IN survived. That was the first information I'd
found about Mary since the 1850 census and I now knew she had married
into the Ramer family. I realize that is a large family but does anyone
know which of the Ramer men she married?
My search and inquiries about a Mary RAMER in Layfayette, IN produced no
evidence that she had ever lived there.
Mary is my brick wall........thanks for any help you can offer.
