Robert W. Dotterer, 82

Robert W. Dotterer, 82, Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Logansport, passed away
Monday, March 28, 2005 in Florida. He was born on December 5, 1922 in Peru
to Rex and Edna Hazel Wilson Dotterer. Dotterer married Nellie (Frushour)
Dotterer on October 25, 1947 in Cass County.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in World War II. Dotterer
retired as a tool engineer from the General Tire and Rubber Company, and was
a member of the Calvary Christian Church, Logansport, and an associate
member of the Central Christian Church, Bradenton. He was a member of the
Peru-Miami Lodge #67, Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge, Logansport, the Sahib
Shrine, Sarasota, Fla. and Federated Crafts, Clearwater, Fla.
Dotterer is survived by his wife; one daughter, Ann Melinda Dotterer,
Ellenton, Fla.; two sisters, Helen J. Dotterer and Ruth E. Briner, both of
Peru; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by both parents.
There will be visitation and funeral service at the Central Christian Church
on Wednesday. Visitation will also be held on Monday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in
Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport, with the Reverends Doug Mankell
officiating funeral services at 2:30 p.m.
Fisher Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
Interment will be in the Spring Creek Cemetery, Logansport.

James Edward Gannon, 74

James Edward Gannon, 74, formerly of Bunker Hill, went to be with the Lord
at 10:10 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2005 at the home of his daughter in Lapel.
He was born on September 23, 1930 in Woodbury, Tenn. to James Ogan and Mary
Lilly (Jones) Gannon.
He married Martha J. Todd Gannon on December 24, 1954 in Woodbury.
Gannon retired from American Standard in 1985 after 21 years service. He
served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954.
He was a member of the Mt. Zion Free Methodist Church and enjoyed wood
working and coon hunting.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Lowe and husband Mark, Lapel, and
Glenda Phillips and husband Richard, Luttral, Tenn.; two sons, Jimmy Gannon,
Terre Haute, and James Lawton and wife Paris Gannon, Coatesville; 11
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Murray-Weaver
Funeral Home, Galveston Chapel, 401 S. California St., with the Reverends
Richard Wrightsman and Russell Veldman officiating.
Burial will be at Ever Rest Memorial Park Cemetery, Logansport.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dawn Maxine Austin, 75

Dawn Maxine Austin, 75, Roann, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at
9:08 a.m. at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru.
She was born on July 26, 1929 in Sioux Falls, S.D. to Orie and Agusta
(Jibbons) Luther. She married Bud Austin in 1951, and he passed away on Feb.
28, 1998.
Austin was a graduate of Sioux High School in Sioux Falls, S.D., and
attended Bachelor Creek Church of Christ. She spent the winter months in
Okechobee, Fla., and enjoyed reading and spending time with her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Vicki and husband Johnny Erickson, and
Shelly and husband Larry Garcia, all of Okechobee, Fla., and Susie and
husband Ike Denton, Roann; three sons, Richard Lee Austin and wife Nancy,
Timothy Austin and wife Robin, all of Marion, and Robert Dean Austin and
wife Jeanene, Van Buren; one brother, Robert Luther and wife Lorna, Sioux
Falls, S.D.; one sister-in-law, Dolly Luther, Sioux Falls, S.D.; 43
grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and
friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother; and one
sister.
Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Roann Chapel, Roann,
Thursday at 11 a.m. with John Leinbaugh officiating.

Richard E. Reed, 77

Richard E. Reed, 77, Kokomo, passed away at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, March 28,
2005 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
He was born on March 12, 1928 to Leo J. and Nellie Reed. Reed married Rosida
(Shoemaker) Reed on September 18, 1949 in Denver, and she survives in
Kokomo.
Reed farmed in his early years, before working for Delco Electronics, where
he retired following 28 years service. He served in the U.S. Army and was a
35-year-member of Gideons International. He also belonged to the American
Legion, NRA, Bon Air Church of the Nazarene, and was a founding member of
the First Brethren Church in Kokomo.
He is survived by wife; two sons, Kent R. Reed and wife April, Galves-ton,
and Jack L. Reed and wife Christie, Kokomo; one daughter, Jill E. and
husband John K. Daugherty, Peru; a foreign exchange son, Leo Moron; 14
grandchildren, Jackie and Jason Huffer, Jeremy Reed, Tyler Reed, Delton
Reed, Kaysey Reed, Rebecca Reed, Nick Reed, Amy Reed, Janson Golightly,
Darian Golightly, Justin Engle, Janel Engle and Elizabeth Daugherty; three
great-grandchildren, William, Austyn and Devon Huffer; his twin sister, Ruth
Blair, Peru; and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Reed, West Virginia.
Reed was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, John.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Friday at Bon Air Church of the
Nazarene, 2419 N. Locke, Kokomo, with the Reverend Dennis Riggs officiating.
Burial will be at Ever Rest Memorial Park Cemetery, Logansport.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Murray-Weaver Funeral
Home, Galveston, and also one hour prior to service at the church on Friday.

Ralph D. Myers, 83

Ralph D. Myers, 83, Peru, passed away at 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29,
2005 at Miller's Merry Manor, Peru.
He was born on November 29, 1921 in Miami County to D. Emerson and Susie
(Hartleroad) Myers.
Myers was a lifetime member of the Literary Aid Society and Eagles Lodge,
Peru.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews; one sister, Louise Hentgen and
husband Bill, Peru; and one sister-in-law, Bertha Myers, Peru and Dana
Pointe, Calif.
Myers was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dean and Raymond
Myers; and one sister, Anna Mae Myers.
Funeral services will be on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Flowers-Leedy Funeral
Home, Peru, with Chaplain Steve Fleck officiating.
Burial will be at Metzger Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
