Ina Mae Miller, 88, Peru, passed away at 3:25 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2005 at
Dukes Continuing Care, Peru.
She was born in Las Vegas, N.M. on Nov. 2, 1916 to George and Estell Wedell
Bryan.
She married Robert "Bob" Miller on Jan. 17, 1946, and he survives.
Miller was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Science Church, the
Order of the Amaranth Lodge and Eastern Star. She also enjoyed playing music
and loved animals.
Survivors besides her husband include a son, Charles Miller, Denver; a
daughter, Georgeanna Williams, Peru; a granddaughter, Amy Sofianos; and two
great-grandchildren, Alec and Isabella Sofianos.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral
Home, with Chaplain Steve Fleck officiating. Burial will be at Rankin
Cemetery, Miami County. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the
funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite
charity.
Wanda J. Murphy Albert

Wanda J. Murphy Albert, 82, Attica, passed away at the home of her son in
Lafayette on Monday, March 21, 2005, at 3:15 a.m.
She was born in Jefferson Township, Newton County, on May 31, 1922 to Leroy
and Rachel Warenford Murphy. She graduated from A.J. Kent High School in
Kentland in 1940, and later was a graduate of Martin University, where she
received her certificate to become a hairdresser.
Albert has lived in Attica since 1951 and moved to her son's home in
Lafayette in January 2004. On March 15, 1951, she married Warren L. Albert
in Lafayette. He preceded her in death Dec. 1, 2001.
She formerly owned beauty shops in both Lafayette and Attica. She was a
member of the Attica First United Methodist Church, Kappa Kappa Kappa
Sorority of Attica and Fountain County Home Economics Club. She had formerly
been active in the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts organizations, and she enjoyed
shopping at flea markets and had operated antique booths at Mansfield during
the Covered Bridge Festivals.
Surviving are a son, Mark Albert and wife Kathleen, Lafayette; a daughter,
Tammi Acree and husband Eddie, Peru; a sister, Mildred Perkins, Elizaville;
and seven grandchildren, Lorin and Preston Acree, Aaron, Mattea, Trinity,
Thaddeus and Malachi Albert.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Thursday at
11 a.m., with Pastor G. Scott Pattison officiating. Burial will be in the
Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Friends may call at the the funeral home on
Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica
First United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society or the St. Elizabeth

Virginia Lee McGuire, 81

Virginia Lee McGuire, 81, Denver, passed away at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday,
March 19, 2005 at her residence.
She was born on February 6, 1924 in Miami County to Glen E. and Sadie A.
(Jones) Shoemaker. She married Dean H. McGuire on February 26, 1946 at the
home of the late Reverend C. F. Golden near Denver.
Virginia was a very talented woman and enjoyed playing the piano and organ,
especially for her church, the Chili Baptist Church, for which she was a
member for over 20 years. She was also an avid bingo player, and enjoyed
collecting antiques.
She is survived her husband; one brother, Gene Shoemaker, Fishers; three
nieces, Elaine Powell, Mechanicsburg, Ohio, Jan Haas, Warsaw, and Sue
Garber, Zionsville; and three nephews, Rich and Jim Shoemaker, both of Ft.
Wayne, and Jason Shoemaker, Syracuse.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Rosanna
Shoemaker; and two brothers, Byron and Jack Shoemaker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, at McClain Funeral
Home, Denver, with the Reverends Gene Personett and Bill Shewman
officiating.
Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery, Denver.
Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Herbert Raymond Myers, 65

Herbert Raymond Myers, 65, passed away at 11:20 p.m. on Saturday, March 19,
2005 at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo.
He was born on August 31, 1939 in Peru to Raymond A. and Elizabeth (Bullick)
Myers.
Myers married Marjorie (Stout) Myers on December 4, 1976. He was a retired
farmer and member of the Morning Star Church, Kokomo.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Myers is survived by his wife; three children, Anna 'LuAnn' Lugo and fiance
Joel Beery, Warsaw, Janett Goodman, Peru, and Jimmy Goodman and wife Laura,
Peru; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Flowers-Leedy
Funeral Home, Peru, with the Reverend Marvin Lamb officiating.
Burial will be at Springdale Cemetery, Bunker Hill.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Elizabeth 'Beth' Miller, 94

Elizabeth 'Beth' Miller, 94, passed away at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2005
at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, LaFontaine, following an extended illness.
She was born on December 20, 1911 in Miami County to Earl D. and Flora
(Miller) Fisher.
Miller was a 1927 graduate of Chili High School and 1932 graduate of
Manchester College.
She married Leonard L. Miller on May 1, 1937.
Miller was a retired elementary school teacher following 40 years of service
at schools in Peru, Wabash and Miami County. Miller was a member of the
Indiana Retired Teachers Association, and charter member of the Bible
Baptist Church in Peru.
She is survived by two sisters, Helen Davis, Bethany, Mo., and Kathryn
Tjart, Anderson; several nieces and nephews.
Miller was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Norman,
Lenard, Owen, and Elton Fisher; and one sister, Irma Snavely.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the
Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, Peru, with Dr. Don Worch and Pastor Jim Butler
officiating.
Burial will be at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
