Lawrence D. Randall, 59

Lawrence D. Randall, 59, Angola, passed away Friday, March 11, 2005 at
Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born May 16, 1945 in Hillsdale, Mich. to Lawrence M. and Delma Hinkle
Randall. He married Deanna Smith Randall June 15, 1974, and she survives.
Randall graduated from Hillsdale High School and Western Michigan
University, and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Viet Nam War. He
also was plant controller at Hillsdale Tool, Hillsdale, Mich. and Hamilton,
and attended Pleasantview Church of Christ, Angola. Randall and his wife are
owners of Throop Florist, Angola.
Survivors besides his wife include two sons, Jeffrey George and wife Lisa,
Wayne, N.J., and Christopher George and wife Patty, Pompton Lake, N.J.; a
brother, Douglas Randall, Grand Rapids, Mich.; a sister, Dena Morrison,
Osseo, Mich.; and five grandchildren, Trevor, Zachary, Kayleigh, Derek and
Matthew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasantview Church of Christ,
Angola, with the Rev. David Poole officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove
Cemetery, Jefferson Township, Hillsdale, Mich. Visitation will be from 2 to
4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Weicht Funeral Home, Angola. Memorials may be
made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
Jerry L. Wright, 58

Jerry L. Wright, 58, North Manchester, passed away at 4 a.m. Saturday, March
12, 2005 at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.
He was born Nov. 29, 1946 in Rochester to Richard V. and Mary A. Ogle
Wright. He married Glenna E. Graybill March 23, 2001, and she survives.
Wright graduated from North Miami High School in 1964, and from Sam's
Technical Institute, which is now ITT in Indianapolis, in 1966, receiving an
associate's degree in tool engineering. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966
to 1968, and was a tooling engineer at Controls, North Manchester, from 1983
to 1996. Later he was administrator of Moose lodges in Huntington, North
Manchester, Greenwood and Plymouth, and was a Moose Lodge member since 1979.
In addition, he was a member of the First Brethren Church, North Manchester,
and an avid golfer.
Survivors besides his wife include a son, Greg Wright, Indianapolis; a
daughter, Mindy Flora and husband Shane, North Manchester; two
step-daughters, Sandi Fruitt, North Manchester, and Cindy R. Dyson and
husband Aaron, Wabash; a brother, Richard Wright and wife Patricia,
Lafayette; a sister, Connie Judy, Peru; three grandchildren, Stephanie and
Brian Wright, both of Indianapolis, and Dellynn Benton, North Manchester;
and three step-grandchildren, Kristopher Fruitt, North Manchester, and
Colton and Connor Ringel, both of Wabash.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, James Wright.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Brethren Church, North
Manchester, with Pastor Kurt Stout officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn
Cemetery, North Manchester. Calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at
DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester Chapel,1401 SR 114 W., and one
hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to First

James Randolph Lozier, 46

James Randolph Lozier, 46, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2005 after a
courageous battle with cancer.
Randy, who was also known as 'Ace,' was born on August 20, 1958 in Warsaw to
James Leroy and June Elizabeth (Starner) Lozier. The family moved from
Claypool to the Peru area in 1963.
Randy was a 1976 graduate of Maconaquah High School and was employed as a
maintenance supervisor for Sturgis Iron and Metal Co., Inc. in Peru.
He shared a love of racing with his dad, and they raced stock cars and
go-karts at the Bunker Hill Speedway and other tracks in the area. Randy was
the 1998 Bunker Hill Speedway track champion. We will always remember the
racing days. Randy also enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle,
traveling to Florida for Daytona Bike Week, fishing, working on cars,
NASCAR, and spending time with family and friends.
Randy is survived by one sister, Barbara E. Page and husband Sheldon, Holt,
Mich.; three nieces, Ronda C. Page, Lansing, Mich., Jennifer L. Knight and
husband Matthew, Mountain Home, Id., and Kelly M. Page, Elmhurst, Ill.; many
cousins and friends; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Randy's life will be conducted on Saturday, April 2, 2005
at noon at the Firemen's Building, located at the end of Arthur Street on
Pike Lake, Warsaw. Please join us as we come together to remember Randy and
share a meal in his honor.
Cremation has taken place. The family is being served by Eikenberry-Eddy
Funeral Home, Peru.

Ralph D. Watkins, 87

Ralph D. Watkins, 87, Danville, Ill., passed away at 11:57 p.m. on Tuesday,
March 1, 2005 at Provena United Samaritan Medical Center, Danville.
He was born on January 6, 1918 in Decatur, Ill. to Ernest and Lella Watkins.
Watkins retired from Norfolk and Western Railroad, Peru, and served in the
U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his former wife, Martha Jane Watkins; one sister, Erna
Murray, Washington, D.C.; three sons, Noble Watkins and wife Melissa,
Deerfield, Fla., Ralph Watkins, Jr., and Mark J. Watkins and wife Therese,
each of Peru; four daughters, Glenda Hoffman and husband Ron, Key West,
Fla., Lisa Wagner and husband Steven, Peru, Linda Saylors and husband Terry,
Bunker Hill, and Cinda Elrod and husband Glen, Brandon Suffolk, England; 18
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; one sister; an
infant daughter; and an infant grandson.
Funeral services were conducted in Danville on March 7, 2005.
James E. Hibbard, 56

James E. Hibbard, 56, Macy, passed away at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 10,
2005 at Dukes Memorial Hospital.
Hibbard was born on December 11, 1948 in Connersville to Richard and Georgia
(Wyatt) Korba.
He was awarded a Purple Heart for being wounded while serving in the U.S.
Army in Vietnam in 1970.
Hibbard is survived by his mother, who resides in Peru; one daughter, Jamie
Hibbard, Ft. Wayne; one brother, Harold Hibbard, Twelve Mile; one sister,
Sherry Jones, Lagro; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by one
sister, Ina Sue Hibbard.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday at the McClain
Funeral Home, Denver, with Chaplain Steve Fleck officiating.
Burial will be at the Santa Fe Cemetery, Santa Fe.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Joseph L. Elmore, 63

Joseph L. Elmore, 63, Peru, passed away at 12:25 a.m. on Friday, March 11,
2005 at Dukes Memorial Hospital.
Elmore was born on December 25, 1941 in Holy Cross, Ky. to Frank and Crozier
(Cecil) Elmore. He married Mary Arlene (Hicks) Elmore in Holy Cross on
September 19, 1964.
He served as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force from 1959
until retirement in 1980. Following his retirement, Elmore served as the
Peru-Miami County zoning administrator from 1981 to 1990 and again from 1995
to 2003. Elmore also served as the manager of the Peru License Branch from
1990 to 1995.
Elmore was president-elect of the Phi Delta Kappa fraternity, and was a
member of the American Legion Glen Owens Post #14, Miami County VFW Post
2067, the Peru Maennerchor and St. Charles Catholic Church. He was a
graduate of Ball State University, where he earned a B.S. in political
science. While serving in the U.S. Air Force, Elmore was awarded three Air
Medals, the Air Force Commen-dation Medal, the Combat Readiness Medal, the
Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon with four Oak Leaf Clusters, the National
Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Air Force Good Conduct
Medal.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Cheryl Giannuzzi and husband John,
Noblesville; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Teague and husband Randy,
Jessica Giannuzzi and Jennifer Giannuzzi; three great-grandchildren, Brianna
Brabham, Lizzey Light and Justin Teague; two brothers, Donnie Elmore and
wife Michelle, New Haven, Ky.; Estil Elmore and wife Marilyn, Fern Creek,
Ky.; four sisters, Louise Hicks, Holy Cross, Geraldine Fogle and husband
Avon, Holy Cross, Gondola Miles and husband Werner, Bardstown, Ky., and
Theresa Raley and husband Sam, Lebanon Junction, Ky.
Elmore was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at noon today at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home,
Peru, with the Reverend Francis I. Kilcline III officiating.
Burial will be at the Ever Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.
Military graveside services will be conducted by members of the Miami County
Military Rites Unit.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent de
Paul Society or the St. Charles Catholic Church.
