Richard "Dick" William Nance, 80

Richard "Dick" William Nance, 80, Peru, passed away at 4:08 p.m. Friday,
March 11, 2005, at the Heart Center of Indiana, Indianapolis.
He was born Oct. 13, 1924 in West Point to Carl and Leona Coffman Nance. On
Oct. 20, 1944, he married Frances Helen Haskin in Lafayette, who preceded in
death on April 8, 2004.
Nance graduated from Wolcott High School in 1945, and served in the U.S.
Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Submarine Veterans of WWII
and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3790.
He retired in 1985 from the C&O Railroad after 30 years of service.
Survivors include one son, Dick Nance and wife Cheryl, Logansport; one
daughter, Donna Scott, New Waverly; two sisters, Delores Pullen, Washington,
and Beverly Howard, Lafayette; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and
one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Gundrum Funeral Home,
Logansport, with the Rev. Scott Ellison officiating. Burial with full
military graveside rites will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial
contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Charles W. "Charlie" Meeks, 70

Charles W. "Charlie" Meeks, 70, Peru, passed away at 9:05 p.m. Saturday,
March 12, 2005 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.
Salvador Delgado, 38

Salvador Delgado, 38, Logansport, formerly of Nebraska and Texas, passed
away Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at his residence in Logansport.
No funeral or visitation is planned. Private services will be held in Texas.
Kroeger Funeral Home, Logansport, handled local arrangements.
Lucille Personett, 94

Lucille Personett, 94, Macy, passed away at 3:40 a.m. Sunday, March 13, 2005
at Life Care Center, Rochester.
She was born Dec. 23, 1910 in Miami County to Harry and Ada Fishley Runkle.
She married Lawrence I. Personett Dec. 5, 1930 in Rochester, and he preceded
her in death in August 1979.
Personett was a homemaker and a member of Gilead United Methodist Church and
the United Methodist Women at the church.
Survivors include two daughters, Marie Nickels and husband Lloyd, Peru, and
Mary Ann Kuhn and husband Jerry, Macy; three sons, Earl Personett and wife
Ruby, Yuma, Ariz., Harold Personett and wife June, Macy, and Donald
Personett and wife Jean, Akron; 13 grandchildren; and 27
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a grandson, David Personett.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron,
with the Rev. George Hapner officiating. Burial will be in Gilead Cemetery,
Gilead. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Macy Christian Church Ladies Aid.
Mary Ruth "Ruthie" Dennison, 64

Mary Ruth "Ruthie" Dennison, 64, Converse, passed away at 2:30 a.m.
Saturday, March 12, 2005 at her residence.
She was born Sept. 17, 1940 in Miami County to Dean and Irene Dangerfield
Fansler. She attended Converse High School, and married Earl Dennison in
October 1961. He survives.
Dennison was a community resident sponsor for the V.A. for 35 years, enjoyed
gardening, working in her home and was an Elvis collector. In addition, she
was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors besides her husband in Marion include a son, Tim Dennison and wife
Michelle, Peru; two brothers, James Fansler, Kokomo, and Glen "Willie"
Fansler, Converse; a sister, Shirley Kelly and husband Delmar, Alexandria;
and a sister-in-law, Leeanna Fansler, Greentown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joe and Gene
Fansler; and a sister, Norma Kelly.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral
Homes, Larrison-Martin Chapel, 308 E. Marion St., Converse, with Pastor
Steven McPeek officiating. Burial will be in Converse Cemetery. Visitation
will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
