My Elder family resided in the Peru area. This would include Jacob
ELDER, as well as his sister Phoebe [c1846-c1908] who married a Mr.
BACON and sister, Elizabeth [c1830-c1868] who married Joseph EIKENBERRY.
Jacob and his two sons, Noble Butler and John William Henry, were
included in the 1880 census as living in the same household as a John N
WINTERS. Jacob's wife, Lucinda HARRISON, had left the family prior to
that. According to family, other HARRISONS in the area were related to
our Lucinda -- would greatly appreciate any lead on her!
Eleanor or Mary Ellen TIMMONS [b:1832], who married William BOUSSUM,
died at Peru on 23 Jan 1885. I'd very much like to locate a death or
burial record for her -- or even an obituary, if any may exist.
Daughter, Mary Isabelle BOUSSUM [1859-1944] married Elijah Stephen
HARMISON. Two of their five children were born at Peru. Daughter,
Harriett May or Hattie HARMISON married Noble Butler ELDER in 1894 at
Peru. Elijah worked for the railroad prior to 1900. Can anyone advise me
as to requesting any railroad records that may exist... such as pension,
or...???
I would be intertested in exchanging information with others researching
these names. For the most part, members of these families lived in Miami
or the surrounding counties of White, Carroll, Cass, and Clinton.
Thanks,
Loretta Baughan
