Dixie-
I am also researching a Miami County Miller family with some common
first names. It might help you to know what I found - I originally thought
the information I found fit in my line but later it was disproved.
My Jacob Miller actually never made it to Miami County even though the
obituary for his son, Phillip Miller, indicated that Jacob moved to Miami
County about 1848 and died the following winter. My Jacob Miller died in
Fairfield County, Ohio around May 20, 1841. Jacob's wife, Nancy Pratt
Miller, married a second time to Joseph Larimer in Fairfield County, Ohio
and it was Joseph that moved the family, some still carrying the Miller
name, to Miami County around 1848. My Jacob Miller and Nancy Pratt Miller
had about nine children, one of which was Susannah - as of yet, I do not
know if she ever left Fairfield County, Ohio. They also had a son, Phillip
- by his first wife, Amanda Wilson, Phillip was the father of a John Miller,
born in 1866.
During one of my research trips to the Ft. Wayne Allen County Public
Library, I came across a book entitled, GENEALOGICAL INDEX OF OBITUARIES,
DEATH NOTICES FROM MIAMI COUNTY, INDIANA 1824-1974, by Smith. That book
made reference to an obituary of a Jacob Miller from Ohio. When I requested
a copy of that obituary from the Peru Public Library, the copy made
references to Jacob Miller being from Darke County, Ohio.
I hope this will help you distinguish between the two Miller families.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions.

My gg grandparents, LEWIS AND SUSANNAH (MILLER) JENNINGS lived in
Harrison Twp, Miami County, moving there circa 1845. I believe Susannah
was the daughter of JOHN MILLER b. circa 1804 in Saxony and SARAH MILLER
b. circa 1803 in VA. Susannah's brother, JACOB MILLER, witnessed land
records in OH for my gg grandparents. The MILLER families lived in
Harrison Twp. also. Does anyone have information about about the MILLER
family they would share? Thanks, Dixie (Jennings) Greenwood
