James Rex Hodson, 55

James Rex Hodson, 55, Wabash, passed away at 3:37 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at Parkview
Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born on Aug. 3 I, 1949 in Peru to Jonathan Hodson and Marie (Fear) Raines.
Hodson started working for Marsh Inc. in October 1966, and was comanager of LoBill Foods
in Wabash. He was a member of the Wabash American Legion Post 15, and the Wabash Eagles
Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved woodworking.
He is survived by his mother, Marie Raines, Marion; two daughters, Nikki Hodson and
Jennifer Swafford and husband Ryan, all of Marion; a son, James A. Hodson, Marion; three
grandchildren, Jordan Hodson, Haley and Rilynn Swafford, all of Marion; three sisters,
Arliss Richardson and husband Howard, Converse, Nellie Ragan, Peru, and Kitty Dearing,
Oscado, Mich.; three brothers, Larry Hodson, Danny Hodson and wife Becky, all of Kokomo,
and Paul Hodson, Peru; a half-sister, Waunitta Winters, Peru; and a special friend,
Dorothy Newcomer, Roann.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Janet Hodson, Berniece and Thelma Small, and
Peggy Teel.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service,
1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. Burial will follow at Converse Cemetery. Friends may call
from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to
the American Heart Association.

Lois M. Childers, 69

Lois M. Childers, 69, Peru, passed away at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at Dukes
Memorial Hospital. She was born April 28, 1936 in Jackson, Ky. to Ova and Allie Mae
Minton Moore. She married Frank J. Childers on Nov. 3, 1958, and he preceded her in death
July 24, 1984.
Childers was a homemaker and attended First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include a son, Samual Childers and wife Amber, Peru; a daughter, Debra Kemp and
husband Charles, Peru; three brothers, Boyd Moore and wife Virginia, Waterloo, Robert
Moore, Peru, and Jesse Moore, Charleston, W. Va.; two sisters, Lula Bellamy and husband
Lester, Trenton, Ohio, and Marsha Moore, Peru; eight grandchildren, John Childers, Michael
Childers, Richard Childers, Marketa Childers, Brian Childers, Pharyn Childers, Nicholas
Childers and Samual Childers II; and one great-grandson, Caiden Scott Childers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a son, Jeffrey Childers, on Jan.
26, 2001.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, with
Pastor Ronald Shaner officiating. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Jerry L. Crockett, 61

Jerry L. Crockett, 61, Peru, was called home to be with the Lord at 11:57 a.m. Monday, May
23, 2005 at Dukes Memorial Hospital. He will be sadly missed by his family, church family
and friends.
He was born September 3, 1943 in Marion to Gilbert and Evadna (McNeely) Crockett. He
married Karen Ulery on October 19, 1963, she survives.
Crockett was a 1962 Graduate of Peru High School and was retired from Chrysler
Corporation, Kokomo. He was a member of the Peru Church of the Brethren and his hobbies
included collecting John Deere Tractors, model trains, wood working and collected
Coke-a-Cola paraphernalia.
Survivors other than his wife include two daughters, Beth Ann Silveus and husband Tony,
Warsaw, and Jerri Ann Kirk, Peru; five grandchildren, Troy and Lindsey Stapleton and
Andrew, Austin and Adam Kirk; a sister, Betty Lou Gordon and husband Bob, Van Wert,Ohio;
extended family includes Troy, Leslie and Madison Stapleton and members of the Peru Church
of the Brethren. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Peru Church of the Brethren, 134 E. Fifth
St., Peru, with Pastor Marvin Schwartz officiating and burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.
