David,
It is very well posable they are related, although I currently don't have a
Jeremiah W. FIELDS in my research. Oscar FIELDS ended up in St. Joseph
County, (north of Marshall Co.). Oscar Fields' great Grandfather William FIELDS
originally came to Grant Co. Indiana from Hawkins Co. TN with at least three
of his brothers, Dempsy, Russell, and Jackson FIELDS. I have found 1850 census
records of them plus early Grant Co. Land records. William's mother,
Jedediah BARUELS FIELDS died in Randolph Co., IN, May 17, 1859. I have not done
much research on the Dempsy, Russell and Jackson lines, followed the Jedediah
BARUELS FIELDS clue, or looked to see if any of William's sisters made the move
with the four brothers, but I can send what I have to you off list to see if
you can make a connection.
Joellen

Subject: Re: [INMIAMI] FIELDS?
I am looking for info on an earlier generation of FIELDS. I have
Amanda HORN, born 1858, died 1961, in Marshall Co. (just 2 counties
above Miami) who married Jeremiah W. FIELDS 04 Mar 1880. They had a
daughter, Fay L. FIELDS, who married William N. GORDON 11 Jan 1917,
all in Marshall Co. Might Oscar FIELDS have been related? Amanda
HORN was my great aunt. I recall her telling of going to the train
depot in Argos (Nickel Plate RR) to see Lincoln's body come through
enroute to his IL burial when she was a child! Thanks, Dave Norris
