Natalie Rose Montgomery Baker
Natalie Baker, 83, died at 5:15 p.m. Saturday at Prairie Village Living
Center.
Born Dec. 5, 1923, in Martin County, she was the daughter of Joseph and
Bertha (Myers) Montgomery.
She was a graduate of Loogootee High School. A homemaker, she was a member
of the Martin County Genealogical Society and the Daughters of the American
Revolution.
She is survived by one niece, Marilyn Boley of Washington, and one nephew,
Joseph Dant of Washington.
Her husband, Russell Baker, died July 1991. Two sister, Marilyn Mize and
Joann Dant, are also deceased.
Private services were conducted Thursday at Ed Lee Mortuary, with Yvonne
Evans officiating. Burial was in Goodwill Cemetery, Loogootee. There was no
visitation.

Submitter's note: Mrs. Baker was a well-known genealogist who devoted most
of her life researching various MD-to-KY-to-IN families. Her work was highly
regarded in genealogical circles and all of her records were microfilmed by
the LDS Family History Library. Her records may be viewed in at the Family
History Library in Salt Lake City, UT or through any LDS Family History
Branch. In particular, she did extensive research on the descendants of
Immigrant Peter Montgomery of Charles Co, MD.
