I am seeking information on certain members of the TOON family. First, here
are some salient facts...my queries are at the bottom.
William TOON's family shows in the 1870 Martin Co. Census for McCameron Twp.
William's son Lucian TOON and Lucian's wife Rhoda [RAGLE] TOON had a farm
near Burns City. In the 1870 Martin Co. Census they show as living in
McCameron Twp. Both are apparently buried in the Burns City cemetery (?).
The farm was auctioned at the death of Lucian in February 1906, the auction
held sometime in summer/fall 1906 or perhaps as late as 1907.
Rhoda RAGLE TOON was the sister of my GGF Alonzo RAGLE, and Lucian TOON
was the brother of Alonzo's wife Susan Ellen TOON.
Rhoda RAGLE was born 14 Oct 1835 and married Lucian TOON on 27 Mar 1856.
========== queries, as they say, "cheaper by the dozen..." ============
I would like to find out where and when Rhoda died. I would also like to
find photo(s) of the Lucian/Rhoda family. I would like to know how these
families are related to the Fred TOON family, whose "swimming hole" is
mentioned in passing in Whorrall's book. I would also like to contact any
TOONs from the pacific northwest who may be related to Peter TOON or others
in this family.
One of Luce and Rhoda's children, Margaret, married a Lafayette Girdley in
1905. Does anyone know anything of this family? Is this a misspelling of
"Gridley?" I have a record of an Angie Gridley marrying James Paris TOON.
Is this a misspelling?
Thanks in advance for any/all responses...
