Hello Fellow Researchers!
I emailed the following information on some members of the TERRELL family to
Linda, but since several persons seem to be interested in the surname, I
thought it might be a good idea to send it to the list:
"I don't know if these are your TERRELLS, but I thought you might be
interested in this. Peter, Reason, and Richard TERRELL purchased items at
the estate sale of my great-great-grandmother, Sarah MOBERLY. The sale was
held 21 Oct 1876.
The MOBERLY farm was located on Boggs Creek, near Dover Hill. I think the
MOBERLYS and the TERRELLS may have been neighbors. One of the items sold was
"1/2 hog at P. Terrells" (could be "hy", hay?, but I think it's
"hog"). It
was purchased by Peter TERRELL for $3.00. Reason bought more items than the
other two."
Why the hog (or whatever it was) was at Peter TERRELL's I don't know. But
Sarah had been a widow for four years and had seven children under the age
of 16. He may have slaughtered the hog for her, and they may have shared the
meat. She probably needed a lot of help from her neighbors!
Regards,
Carol

While your offer was addressed to Linda, I would like very much the data
you've
collected on the Wilburn Terrell families.
Sarah Hord/Hoard who married Wilburn Terrell b.1824 and Mary
Hord/Hoard
who married John Terrell b. 1815 were sisters and both GGG Aunts of
mine.
I have Martha Williams as the second wife of the Wilburn b. 1824 who
married Sarah
Hord/Hoard 27 Aug 1840. Is that correct or were there others?
I would like to be able to find the relationship of this Wilburn Terrell and
John Terrell.
The younger Wilburn Terrell b. Nov 1843, s/o James and Mary Hord/Hoard
Terrell was
married to which of the Rachels?
Who were the parents of the third Wilburn Terrell?
Thanks
