How are you folks related to old Henry and Catherine Holt? They lived next
door to our Edmondson and Riley families in Martin County back in mid-1800s.

Patricia,
I am sure glad you have it figured out. I did go back to the census
records and
posted a correction for the 2 different Kate Ballard's.
I also found your Kate E. Fish listed with her parents in the 1870 census
as
follows:
Leander C. Fish 32 farmer b. IN
Julia A. 27 b. IN
Kate E. 10 b. IN
Martha L. 9 b. IN
*William A. Ritter 14 b. IN
Then in the 1880 census, she is listed as a servant in the household of
Sarah Yenne
as follows:
Sarah Yenne 58 b. OH parents b. VA
Eli 23 b. IN father b. VA mother b. OH
Charles 21 b. same
Sarah J. 19 b. same
*Kate E. Fish 19 servant b. IN parents b. IN
*James Irvin 20 farm hand b. IN parents b. IN
Her parents and family are a few pages over - listed as:
L.C. Fish 42 farmer b. IN parents b. NY
Sabina 34 b. IN father b. PA mother b. OH
Martin 11
George L. 5
Mary E. 3
Sarah H. 1
I STILL couldn't find any marriage record for her to a Ballard. Must have
been
in another county. Hope this will help and glad you had that other
figured out.
Esther
