This is great news about the regular hours of the historical society at
the
old courthouse. To those who volunteer in the genealogical area we
send
a
big thanks. Was there an official announcement about this in the
newspaper?
I have deep roots of my Horsey and Beck and Survance families in
Shoals,
Martin County c1860 - 1880. My grandfather Alexander Devin Beck, and his
second
wife, Sarah Frances Survance Beck were charter members of the Rebeka
Lodge as
the original charter read(printed on a large document, framed and in
the
Historical Library there):

I thought some of you might like to know that the Martin Co. Historical
Society is maintaining regular open hours at the old courthouse now.
While
visiting the same during the Catfish Festival Nancy Baker told me
they
would be
open on Monday,Wednesday, and Friday from 10am to 4pm.
Hope you all can visit it sometime, Ron Gibson
