Frank E. Wildman, 79, Loogootee, died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, February 24,
2002, as the result of an automobile accident.
He was born December 3, 1922 in Martin County to Maurice and Madge (Smith)
Wildman. He married Edna Taylor on July 29, 1943. (Note: She was the
daughter of Mary 'Minnie' Agnes Mattingly and Clyde Alpha Taylor.)
He had retired from National Gypsum after 31 years and had worked at Daviess
County Metals for two years after his retirement. He was a member of the
Church of Christ in Washington, the Loogootee American Legion and was a WW II
Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Wildman, Loogootee; two sons, Dennis
Wildman, Oswego, KS and Frank Dean Wildman, Tucson, AZ; two daughters,
Maureen Baxter, Washington, and Beth Arvin, Loogootee; two brothers, Forrest
Wildman, Martinsville, and Omer Wildman, Franklin; one sister, Ethel Arney,
Washington; sixteen grandchildren; and thirty-seven great-grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by one son, James Maurice Wildman; one daughter, Janice
Marie Wildman; one granddaughter; one grandson; two sisters, Lovatte Rowe and
Fern Johnson; two brothers, Robert and James Wildman.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2002, at the
Brocksmith Funeral Home in Loogootee with burial in Goodwill Cemetery in
Loogootee. Military gravesite rites were conducted by the American Legion
and the VFW.
