Subject: [INMARTIN] Mary Frances Wildman and Frances Wildman
Several sources give 3 Apr 1861 as the date of death of Mary Frances
Wildman, wife of Armsted Wildman. Can anyone tell me the source of this
information? Does anyone know her date of birth?
It is also claimed that she had a daughter named Frances, born ca. 1862,
and a son
named George, born ca. 1862. George I can find on the censuses.
But Frances does not appear on either the 1870 or the 1880 census in any
Wildman household that I have checked, or in any online indexes to the
censuses of Martin Co. There are several Frances Wildmans in other states.
According to
Ancestry.com , Frances Wildman married Horace S. Baker 5 Nov.
1882 in
Martin Co., IN, so there was one a Frances Wildman there, but who
was she? Had she just moved into Martin Co. from another state? Or is there
proof that she was actually the daughter of Armsted and Mary Frances? It
seems strange that she would be omitted from 2 consecutive censuses, when
the rest of her siblings were listed.
Carol
Carol,
This is from the Martin Co. Marriages.
Frances Wildman, age 19, parents: Armstead Wildman &
Mary Frances Moberly. Frances married Horace S. Barker, 11-5-1882. Horace
Barker was the son of Luke
Baker & Delilah Mercer.
According to the marriages Mary Frances Moberly was
the mother of Frances & George Wildman.
I could not find a tombstone for Mary Frances Moberly.
Armstead and one of his wives have a stone in old Trinity
Springs Cemetery.
