PS. anyone have information to share regarding the Marshall Co family of
William T Riddle, b 15 Sept 1831, IN; d 19 March 1892, where not confirmed,
buried in McGrew Cemetery in Walnut Twp, Marshall Co, IN; married (1) Nancy M
Anderson of Monroe Co, IN on 6 October 1850. Nancy M Anderson, daughter of
Andrew B Anderson & Malinda "Millie" Jones, b 1828 IN; died 5 November
1860,
shortly after giving birth to twin sons, William A & James E Riddle, born 26
October 1860.
Children of William T Riddle & Nancy M Anderson:
Clarissa Riddle, b abt 1855; Melinda Riddle, b abt 1858; Ema Riddle, b 8 June
1858 (possibly twin of Melinda or same child); twin sons William A & James E
Riddle, b 26 October 1860. (I assume for now that all these children were
born in Monroe Co, IN until can be proven)
William T Riddle he also married Harriet E Siders on 20 August 1870 in
Marshall Co, IN; died January 1887. They were married by James Russell,
Minister of the M P Church, in Marshall County, Record Book C, page 196.
Children of William T Riddle & Harriet E Siders (not prove but assumed so for
now): Prisila C Riddle (probably named after William T�s sister Pricilla C) b
1 August 1871; Mauda M Riddle, b 21 July 1883.
George M Riddle became Mauda M Riddle�s guardian according to the pension
file. It appears that she received $8.00 per month of per father's pension
(his payments were $12.00 when alive) until she reached legal age (16).
William T Riddle was drafted into the Civil War on 23 September 1864, 32nd
Indiana Infantry Volunteers. He was assigned to Company C, Garrision Guards
at Camp Carrington near Indianapolis. He was honorably discharged on 8 May
1865 with other draftees & substitues.
His physical description indicates that he was 5 feet 11 inches tall, dark
complexion, dark hair, and blue eyes. After discharge from the service he
worked as a day laborer until he was permanently disable from chronic
diarrhea. He was known to reside in Walnut, Marshall County, IN
