Hi everyone, I am new to this list (actually all lists, so I hope I am
posting correctly.)
My relatives are in Culver, IN. I am searching on the KOVACS and KOWATCH
names.
I have found my G-G-Grandfather John KOVACS in the 1920 census, at that
time he was 51, married to Anna. He had at least five children: John
KOWATCH (changed name in military), Frank KOVACS, Mary KOVACS, Anna KOVACS,
and Elizabeth KOVACS. I think there was another daughter after Elizabeth.
I was wondering if anyone had any information on any of them, or any
suggestions on how to find the children's children.
Thank you for your time!

Connie. Back in May you found data on my GGF John KELLER via County records
on Cert of Naturalization (d 4 Apr 1862). He reportedly arrived in NY, 15
Jun
1852. I can't find him listed in any ship's manifest for any
time in early
June of 1852. Is there any way you could find such data at Plymouth, copies
of ship's lists or specific data in the Naturalization application?? You
were
GREAT in May, can you repeat in July??? Thanks ever so much. HERB

Hi everyone! I would like to know if there are any online or correspondence
courses available that will enable me to receive certification for a
professional genealogist. I've been doing this about a year now and love it
so much that I'd like to do it professionally.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Pam,
I don't know about courses in genealogy, but
when I checked into becoming professional
several years ago, you had to submit a book
you had done on genealogy and pay a couple
of hundred dollars to the Board of Certification.
Just about every statement in the book has to
site sources. To become a certified record
searcher you had to have done research for
someone and send copies of the letters you
wrote to the people you did research for, as
well as the research itself.
Yvonne
