My grandparents (Daniel and Inez Corl) kept a photo that I think should go to
a family member... I can't even read the handwriting properly, so please be
liberal in "respelling" what I think I see:
The picture is probably from the late 1820's and shows an oler gentleman
standing in front of a very nice cottage style two-story home. He reminds me
of Col. Sanders (the Chicken Guy).
The back of the picture says:
"Franklin Hol????????? an old Soldier of 62 Aug 15" ,----can't make out
the last name. The letters after the L look like a series of squiggles. It
could be "Holmus" or "Holssuh" or "Holsuis" or any other
possible variation.
