Marjorie has graciously consented for me to forward the following post to
you.
There are two Ervins listed. I would be very interested in any information
about Ervins
in Indiana. My husband's grandmother was Bertha Ervin, daughter of Wesley
Ervin and
Inez Young of Argos, Marshall Co. IN.

54 INQUESTS DURING 1941
Three Open Verdicts Filed by Coroner Leslie A. Laird
Three open verdicts on deaths in Kosciusko county during 1941 have been
filed by Dr. Leslie A. Laird, North Webster, county coroner, according to a
report of inquests on filed at the court house.
During the year 54 inquests were conducted by the coroner as compared
to 58 in 1940. Investigations are still being carried out in the three
cases in which the verdict has been held open.
Open verdicts were returned in the following cases:
Walter Witham Larsen, 26, Chicago, section hand for th ePennsylvania
railroad, killed when run over by a train east of Warsaw on July 21. Larsen
was traveling on a crew train from Hamlet, Ind., to Lima, O. He was first
missed at Fort Wayne and a search back along the tracks resulted in finding
his mangled form. The verdict was held open because it has never been
determined if he accidentally fell or was pushed under the wheels of the
train.
KLINE DEATH MYSTERY.
Dayton Kline, 64, of Disko, whose body was found in a ditch west of
Silver Lake on December 11, is a mystery. His neck was broken. The
position of the body has led officers to believe Kline met with foul play.
Melvin H. Noel, 68 Warsaw, who died of poisoning on December 26.
Whether a case of murder, suicide or accident is still undecided.
Traffic accidents claimed nine victims during the past year and six
persons died when their vehicles were struck by trains. There were six
drownings and four suicides. Heart ailments accounted for 17 deaths.
