Have you come across the Lehr name in your searches. I know that Frank Edwin
Lehr and his wife Laura Lehr came to SF in the 1930's with their children:
Grace Lehr Drum Cantin and Imogene Lehr Eichenberger. The Lehr's are buried
in mt. Olivet Cemetery in Colma, CA. The girls are buried in Garden of
memories cemetery in Salinas, CA. Frank and Laura lived in Santa Clara,
Belmont area on Foldger Street untill there death in 1943 & 1945. I can't
fin an obit for them. Their daughter Grace Lehr Drum Cantin managed
apartments on Pine Street in SF up until 1958, she died in 5 April 1965.
My grandmother Hazel Alice Lehr Reese Calvos came to SF with them and Grace
sign her delayed birth certificate in SF. Do you if there is any way to get
info on this family? I'm at a brick wall.
The Lehr family started in Berks, Pine Grove, Schuylkill, PA in late 1700's
then went to Brenan, IN then to Stark & Wayne Co, OH. Later to DePue,
Bureau, Il and to Schaller, IA. Then to Boone Co, NE and to Omaha, NE and
then to SF.
I'm open to any suggestions you may have to search them. I believe they came
from Germany. The cemetery in Bureau where Isaac Lehr is buried 15 Dec 1865
the records were all in German and have not been transcribed. The stone was
in German and is broken & worn that it is not ledgeable. Isaac Lehr was
christen in Pa 9 Jun 1833 at St Johns Church in Friedensburg, Schylkill, PA.
I believe he was the son of Ester and Jacob Lehr.
If you have any suggestions, they would be deeply appreciated. Please pass
this on if you know anyone that may be able to give me guidance. Thank you.
