I am grateful to hear our firefighters were not injured.
I am interested in knowing what historical documents have been destroyed or
what are still safe.

Dear Donna, the 3 alarm fire was at Michigan St. and the canal, and the
libraries are at Ohio and the canal. Did not hear if other buildings in the
area suffered from smoke or burning embers damage. Check that link I sent
later for updates.
The upscale condo unit that burnt down was set to open in 2 months and total
loss was 28 million. We haven't had a bad downtown fire in 2 decades. Since
the buildings were a total loss it may never be known what started the fire.
The water run off from the fire turned the canal brown, and next Tuesday the
mayor was set to dye it green for St. Patrick's Day festivities. Bob

"They were able to contain the fire at the Historical Foundation Building to
one floor and the roof suffering minimal damage. "
Do you know what this building has in it?
This is a quote from the news link on the web.
