The Historic Landmarks Foundation Building was beside the fire. It was built
in 1879 by Charles J. Kuhn. Here is the website.

Not sure but I think it suffered water overspray from the fire hoses and
heat damage.
This is an interesting website. Many old buildings in harms way are rescued
by this group. Below is a news announcement about the fire damage to this
property. Bob
Landmarks headquarters affected by fire
Posted:3/12/2009
Historic Landmarks Foundation's state headquarters at 340 West Michigan
Street in downtown Indianapolis were damaged this morning by a three-alarm
fire that destroyed an adjacent apartment and retail development.
The Cosmopolitan mixed-use development, still under construction, caught
fire early Thursday morning.
Firefighters worked to save Historic Landmarks' building, which sits only
feet from the Cosmopolitan. There appears to be significant damage to the
upper floors at the north end of the building. Staff have not yet been
allowed in to evaluate the full extent of the damage.
"At this point we're still taking stock," says Marsh Davis, President of
Historic Landmarks Foundation. "We were fortunate not to lose the building.
The fire fighters did a great job."
Historic Landmarks' telephone and email systems are currently not working.
We will update this web story as details become available.
