Hi Listers,
I have posted to the list before regarding my search for the identity of
the amnesiac Benjaman Kyle. That is still ongoing.
I would very much like help from the list with something else.
I am doing consulting for the US Army Casualty Office in Fort Knox, KY.
We are trying to update files of KIAs and MIAs from past conflicts. One
of the cases I have been assigned is that of PFC Gene Lewis Wagner, who
was killed while being held captive in N. Korea in October 1950.
The last contact the military had with the family was in 1954. At that
time, his father Charles Lewis Wagner and his sister Lois M. Wagner, were
living at 1650 College Ave., Indianapolis, IN.
That is all the info I have on them. Could someone suggest where I can
look for further info on this family? I have been searching Ancestry for
a while - so I have all the info from there.
Does anyone have access to the city directories from the 1950s or obits
that might give more info on Charles and Lois?
I'd like to find PFC Wagner's next of kin, and also the appropriate
relatives to donate DNA samples to keep in his file. The world is
changing, and if we are ever able to get back into N. Korea and recover
remains, the military would like to be ready to start the identification
process.
Thanks for the help!
