Dear Listers,
I have a question that maybe someone on here can
help me clarify.
Our family is CERTAIN that a child in our line,
under the age of 12
years old, died in Indiana.
We know that she was alive in the 1920 census and
was listed as 2yrs.
old at that time. In the 1930 census, she is missing from
the family group.
Her older sister is there and a new, younger, 5 yr. old
sister is there. We have
a birth certificate that proves this child (her name is
Edna Pearl Ferry)
was alive .....no name change was made, etc. We don't
know exactly
when she died, just that it was between 1920 census and the
1930 census.
This family lived in Indianapolis from 1918 until
at least 1940. BUT,
we cannot find a death certificate for this child OR her
father, Ira E. Ferry
in the online material for death certificates.
Can someone think of a reason for NOT finding their
death certificates?
They did not move away out of Indiana, for that matter we
do not believe
they even left Indianapolis during that time frame. I have
thought about variant
spellings, tried that out, but to no avail.
I just need another set of heads to think with,
please!!! :)
Elaine (in Florida)
