No, I did not send an app to the State because I learned many years
ago with other states that if you did not know the exact date of death,
or at least a year, you lost money hand over fist! I have spent over
$100.00 in one state and NEVER did get a certificate!
Ira is not in the SSDI, but if he died before 1955 (when the first SS premiums
were paid out for the first time), then it made sense that he was not in THAT
list.
The online site is very nicely put together and VERY user friendly. Just
