She was a truly remarkable woman.

One of our oldest historians for Marion County passed away Monday,
Feb.
25.
Miss Thelma M. Murphy, was 94.
Starting in 1927, she developed an interest in history, and around 1935
started traipsing in cemeteries, taking readings which she typed and
submitted to the Indiana State Library. Her obituary should be in
Wednesday's Indy Star newspaper.
Over the years she has researched her roots, and at last count, had found
1,200 descendants. She lived near Irvington, where her descendants
settled.
She has helped a score of people, and has outlived most!
