The people building the covered bridge at the Indiana State Fairgrounds need
folks to help paint the side boards. This Tuesday thru Friday wear your old
paint clothes and come on down..
Go through main 38th. St. gate and turn left and the road meanders around
the west side to the parking attendant. Tell him you are painting and he
will let you in.The bridge is just beyond.
Be a part of history. those people already helping are a colorful bunch!
You may want to take a lunch bag with you and some water..
This bridge is being designed after the Bridgeton Bridge in Parke County and
uses only 86 pegs total to join the timbers of Poplar and Oak.
Jim Cole, his wife Donna Dawson Cole, are the project managers, and are long
time State Fair people.
This maybe the last chance you have to be a part of history in the making!
