I think Hiram's wife was a Johnson, I'll have to look that up. I believe
Hiram may have looked after the cemetery after the demise of the Washington
church and then it became the Bacon graveyard. The CULBERTSON -SMITH -
DICKERSON - DAWSON - BACON - WARD - some were Rev. War Vet's. All were
buried here.
My mom has told me that when the workers scraped off the tombstones to
gravel the road, that those stones were hauled away to fill up a pit that is
behind the Ralph's Muffler shop at 44th and Keystone.
I can find out by buying a $10,000 ground penetrating radar machine, and
after learning how to use it, will tell me if they are there. Many people
believe that the little woods to the east of the school have unmarked graves
in it. History's mysteries. Bob

Subject: Re: [INMARION] Smith-Bacon connection
I may have sent you the connection before but, when you get my Smith
genealogy report, (I have the right zip code this time) you will see where
Hiram Bacon married Deborah, one of Hezekiah and Mary Ann Rector Smith's
daughters, making Hiram Hezekiah's son-in-law.
I think it's so interesting how the pioneer families connect us all.
