Thank you! I really appreciate you checking on Ancestry. I wonder if
being listed in Government Quarters means he was living on the Base of Fort
Benjamin Harrison? The more I learn about my Uncle Jim the more I want to
know!
Sometime in the 1990's I wrote for info on his military career and was told
there was no information. Now that I have more info on him maybe they could
find his military career information. I also was never able to find him on
the SSDI or Find a Grave.

I was checking 1940 census in
Ancestry.com this morning, and I found a James
J. Redmond listed in Government Quarters, Ind., Marion County, Indiana. In
1935 had been at Fort Knox, Hardin, KY, Sergeant, Co. B, 11th Infantry. I
think he was also enumerated in a household with wife, Hazel.
