Hi Angela,
I was wondering if you had any photos on the Shoobridge family who lived in
North Gate Street, Indianapolis from 1900-1930s (as per USA Census),
Many thanks for any assistance,
Best wishes,

Hi Jim,
If no family members come forward the Genealogical Society of Marion County
would be interested in the photos for our files. We just relocated our
organization and appreciate any donations of Marion County items for our
library.
Thanks,
Angela Gabbard

Subject: [INMARION] Photos from the early 1900s
My family resided in Indianapolis from the late 1800s thru
1968 when my father died. My grandmother worked for the telephone company
and later was involved with local politics. In those early days my
grandmother was part of a "club" that I suspect was mostly other telephone
company workers. And, my father was in high school (Shortridge) and then
business school. In those days people exchanged cabinet photos and
snapshots of friends. I have several that I will give to interested parties
in exchange for a self addressed and stamped envelop. The pictures are
identified as follows:
Zoe Johnson, Richard M. Baur (April 1922). Dr. Morgan (postcard 1924), Mamie
Konecke (2 photos), Effie Meyers, Jessie Bristow, and a group shot of 27
members of Phi Lambda Epsilon fraternity and two old cars in the background.
I also have a couple of snap shots of men from the fraternity that must have
been friends of my father.
In several cases the names on the backs of the photos were written in a blue
crayon and it is a little hard to be sure of the spelling. No names are on
the fraternity picture.
I will hold these photo for a short while in hopes someone will be
interested. With no takers they will go to recycle.

Hi Peter,
I looked through our collection but was unable to find any Shoobridge
photos. Let me know if you have any other research questions about your
family in Marion County and we can see what records we might be able to
find. (The Genealogy Society of Marion County conducts free research of
individuals that lived in Marion County/Indianapolis, IN)
Take care,
Angela
