good link to teach you the craft. I would recommend you try and make
something, and you can tell the kin that this was William's line of work. I
have always wanted to make something over a blacksmith's forge and will be

In the 1857 edition of the Indianapolis City Directory found there,
it was stated that my 3rd great-grandfather, "Wm. Holmes who came in
the spring of 1822, was the first tinner."
Does anyone know what this means?
