Hi!
The first place to look would be the City-County Building On Market Street
Across from the Market Square Arena. Another good place for research is
the State Library on Ohio at Capitol St. The City-County Bldg. is where
all records are kept how far back I don't know. The only records I've
researched there are the Probate records.

Someone posted this question and I, too, would like to know the answer.

Here in Cincinnati, we can go to the Cincinnati Public Health Dept.
There, we can look thru index cards of births and deaths in Cincinnati
from about 1900 thru 1940. (I am not sure of the exact years). These
are the cards they use to type CERTIFIED Birth/Death certificates.
What I would like to know is this. If I drove over to Indianapolis,
would I be able to look thru some sort of index system like I can in
Cincinnati? If not in Indianapolis, maybe somewhere else in Indiana?

I'm searching for the d.o.d. of my greatgrandfather, Harvey Wilkinson,
who resided in Indianapolis in 1929--age ~79 years old. He was born in
~1851 in Green Co., OH. The 1932 City Directory did not list him as
living in Indianapolis.
Any ideas?
