Thanks for looking. This is driving me crazy!
I know he owned a theater on Old Lake Rd., wherever that is. It ran the
first talking movie in Indy, according to family. Can't find that either.
To top it all off, I finally found his marriage listed as Benjamin
Franklin...no Brumley. Spmetimes I wonder if his death is filed that badly
also.

Hi:
I just wanted to let you know that I checked the
following cemetery readings and did NOT find your
Benjamin Franklin:
Cemetery readings for:
Decatur Township
Franklin Township
Pike Township
Union Chapel Cemetery, Washington Township
Crown Hill Cemetery Online database.
The Marion County Health Department will not look for
you unless you have a date. When I was there, they
wouldn't let you have access to look at the microfilm;
they did it for you because they consider the records
confidential.
The Indianapolis Star would be a good place to look.
If you or someone can do the research for you, the
Indiana State Library has the newspapers on microfilm
for research.
If not, the Indianapolis Star will research it. The
following was extracted from their web page:
http://www.indystar.com/library/about_us/services.html
If you have a specific date for an article or obituary
prior to 1991, the fee is $5 each, plus tax (Indiana
residents only). For articles from 1991 to current,
the charge is $2 each plus tax.
We offer a researching service with a charge of $15
for each 15 minutes of research performed. If you are
searching for an obituary prior to the 1940's it is
best to have a date of death. All we need is a topic
or name and an approximate time frame to search.

By e-mail:

The Star has been publishing for almost 100 years and
we have every page of every issue on microfilm. We
also have The Indianapolis News from its beginning in
1869 until the final issue in 1999. Our librarians
have been keeping an index of stories published in The
Star and The News since the 1940s.
I hope this is of some help to you.
Nan
