I don't mean to change the subject, but a 94 year old friend, who is a
Wilson/ Johnson descendant, who's people lived along Washington Street, told
me she went to the Library of Congress in D.C. years ago, and a lady came up
to her and said she had heard that she was from Indianapolis and asked if
she might know her descendant, James Whitcomb Riley? Oh yes, my
grandfather, Charles Johnson, would pull him out of the street, drunk, all
the time. She walked away without asking anything more...It wasn't uncommon
for many early descendants to be alcoholics. Bob
