Hi Karen. I seem to remember the Nagle name in Franklin Township in
Marion County. That would be no where near the addresses you mentioned
though. Would you like me to see what I can find in Franklin Twp?
Ellie
Hi,
I am new to the list and to research in Indianapolis. I am searching
for information on Gottfried Nagle/Nagel, Stanislawa Nagle, and Conrad
Nagle (all spelled either way).
In the 1900 city directory Gottfried was living at 410 E. Market St.
Also listed at that address was Stanislawa Nagle. In the 1897 directory
they were both listed at 561 S. New Jersey. I don't know if they were
married or siblings, although I suspect the former. Gottfried was born
in Germany and died in Evansville in 1946. I don't know any dates,
except that I believe he was born in the mid 1800s. I don't know when
he left Indianapolis, although it was probably closer to the time of his
death.
I suspect Gottfried to be related to a Conrad Nagle/Nagel who shows up
in Indianopolis directories from between 1879 and 1889 at the Sherman
House on 24 W. Louisiana -- and possibly earlier.
Does anyone have a table for the 1880 census so that I can determine
which district to look at (in the online images) for that address?
Is anyone else researching Nagle/Nagel in Indianapolis? Any suggestions
for further investigation, or any additional info on any of these people
would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Karen
