Hello, Listers --
I am hoping to obtain copies of nine obituaries. All nine died in
Indianapolis (well, 3 died in Beech Grove). The earliest is 1890 and the
latest is 1969 -- I *do* have exact dates of death for all nine.
My question is -- to what library might I write to request copies of these
and does anyone know what the library charges? Because of the large number
(nine!), I wonder, though, if a library would even be willing to do that?
If by chance there is someone on the list who might be willing to do this
for me (please don't strangle me! I know that is a beastly request), I am
*most* happy to pay for your time, copy, and postage expenses.
Or perhaps someone might want to do a trade somehow? I live in Houston and
our genealogical library is excellent. We have all censuses/soundex/indexes
and many state and county resources for all the US -- and a variety of
international resources. Perhaps there might be some way for me to look up
some things here (your questions don't need to be Houston or Texas specific)
in exchange for the obituary copies?
I'd be grateful for any suggestions anyone has, even if it is only the
address of a library having the Indpls. newspapers on microfilm.
Much obliged!
