You might try contacting the Indiana State Library. They have city
directories for that time period. Indianapolis was a large city by that
time and there were probably hundreds of churches so you would need to
narrow it down a bit more than this.

Can anyone tell me what churches existed in Indianapolis during the 1860s to
1880s. I am trying to locate same to see if my ancestors, John E. and
Margaret HUFF belonged to same. He died in 1877 and apparently was
