Clermont is very close to Speedway, but if the family owned a farm. He may
have been buried there. Downtown Indianapolis has the cemetery records, and
you would have to go thru them. But since you know the exact date, they have
newspapers that early that maybe a death record in them. and maybe something
on his profession as a builder
These are both on Microfilm.
INDIANPOLIS Daily Commercial (I) 1867 - 1872 Nov.11, 1867 to June 22, 1872
INDIANAPOLIS American Tribune 1890 - 1896 Mar. 1890 to Mar. 1896
The Library is on Ohio St at West St.

Hi -- my ancestor, Seth Bardwell died in Clermont IN March 16, 1876. I
am
looking for his grave site. I can't find any listing of any Clermont
cemeteries
on the internet. It looks like it is a very small town on the outskirts of
Indianapolis. He had a very interesting life and was a person of some
local
importance, building one of Indianapolis' first hotels on Market
Street.
My husband and I are coming to the American Gran Prix in June. He can
see
the
cars and I plan to do genealogical research. I'd love to find the cemetery
where my great-great-grandfather is buried. Any help is appreciated.
