Hi Lori:
You might want to try the Indiana Historical Society and see what
information they might have:
Indiana Historical Society
450 West Ohio Street
Indianapolis, IN 46202-3269
(317) 232-1874
Since it was an outgrowth of the Pulmonary Department of Wishard Hospital,
you might want to check with that hospital and see if they know who might
have the records:
Wishard Hospital
1001 W 10th St
Indianapolis, IN 46202
317-639-6671
I hope this is of some help to you.
Nan

Does anyone know if there are records available for patients that stayed
there? I had a grandmother I didn't know who was there a couple of years
and might be interested.

Hi Rose:
According to the Encyclopedia of Indianapolis, Page 128:
In 1917 Sunnyside Sanitarium opened near Oaklandon as an outgrowth of the
pulmonary department of Wishard Hospital. Sunnyside provided
state-of-the-art care and treatment for tuberculosis patients. It continued
in operation until 1969, when new treatments for tuberculosis made the
facility obsolete.

Hello listers,
in 1920 US Census I have found the cousin of my father, Anna Diethelm nee
Mueller (Miller) as a patient in Sunnyride Hospital, Lawrence township,
Indianapolis; enu, eration date was january 14 to january 18 1920.
What sort of hospitl wass this?
Can anyone suggest me to do further research for Anna? I did not find her
nor her husband Ferdinand in the 1930 Census.
Thanks for all suggestions
Rose, german in Germany
