Hi Linda,
I finally got to the point today where I could get my yearbooks out and look at them.
I graduated with Rocky R. Rhoads (not Rhodes). I don't know if Rocky was his given
name or a nick-name, but Rocky is what is listed with our senior pictures. I thought I
went all through school with him, but he doesn't show up in my high school yearbooks
until we are juniors. We did so many 4-H activities together it just seemed like we knew
each other a long time. His brother was called Dusty--at the time I thought
"Dusty" and "Rocky" were odd names to go with "Rhoads."
I remembered last night after I wrote, that I worked part time (for a short time) here in
my little town for a fellow named "Rhoades". He's an only child, his
parents are both deceased, he's not married, and his closest family is an aunt or
uncle who live in Franklin, Johnson Co., Indiana. I don't think he knows much beyond
the names of his grandparents.
This isn't much help, but maybe a little bit, to place the names in certain
locations.

I'm looking for information on the Rhodes (also various spelling) families who resided
in Decatur Twp and Wayne Twp, Marion Co. The information I have found in the 1850-1870
census in both townships that the Rhodes families came from New Jersey and settled in
Marion County in the early 1830's. The following are the families I found: Jas Rhodes
born abt 1794, N.J. (Wayne Twp) James B, Rhodes born abt 1806 N.J (Wayne Twp); Hiram
Rhodes born abt. 1805, N.J. (Wayne Twp); John Rhodes born abt. 1790, NJ (Wayne Twp and
Decatur Twp, 1860) Charles Rhods, born abt. 1800, N.J (Wayne Twp); Joseph (?) Rhodes born
about 1798, N.J (Decatur Twp). Charles and Hiram are the oldest family members who resided
in Wayne Twp in 1870.
