Hi Shirley! If you are researching the Maynard family, perhaps we are
researching the same line. My Maynard line, aka Maners, Manners, include
family
names such as Hendricks and Ellis. In fact, my children's great-great
grandmother, Nellie Maynard is over 100 yrs old right now.
Let me know if you think we might be searching for the same ancestors.
I don't think so, Kimber. Mine have been pretty well found. The first
arrived in 1852 and went directly to Dearborn Co., then Ripley where William was
ordained a minister in the White Water Baptist Association in 1852.
His wife was Sarah Kemp (Widow Phillips). Their children followed them until
the last in 1860, my husband's great grandfather, William, his wife, and
children. They went to where mom and dad were. I think that was Pennsylvaniaburg
(Penntown), Ripley.
Son Isaac died on shipboard.
William (the younger)had siblings married in England.
Mary Ann Phillips who married John Gladwish.
James Maynard married Elizabeth Crouch.
One sibling married in Ripley Co. This was Naomi/Nahoma Maynard who married 3
times: Charles Jenner, Edward Hollensbee, Jacob Haynes. She outlived them
all.
Her daughter, Phebe Jenner, married Horace Greeley P. Perrine/Perine, and
they moved to Indianapolis.
Another branch moved to Indianapolis. William (the younger) had a son,
William Rufus, who moved to Hamilton, OH and he had children. One, Thomas Donald
Maynard, moved to Indianapolis between 1920 and 1930. He had 2 children.
Opal, changed name to Billie May, and son Glendon.
Billie married Dr. Glenn G. Musselman. This family line has been completed.
Glendon married Mary Carson. I've got this line too.
If you should tap into any of these names, well, we can talk more.
The Maynard family in Salt Creek Twp., Decatur is my husband's line, but very
few Maynards are still there.
