Daniel UPDEGRAFF born Dec 1839 in Lancaster Co PA arrived sometime after Civil War
service, possibly abt 1866 to Indianapolis IND along with brothers George bn Oct 1846 and
Julius bn abt 1842.
Census postings show that Daniel and family left Marion Co IND and settled in Lucas Co OH
pre 1880.(This included Daniel's daughter Lillian, my great grandmother)
George and Julius both married, but have not found any descendants.
George was vet of Civil War service, 45th PA Regiment, and is buried in Crown Hill
Cemetery in Indianapolis, deceased Oct 1911.
1910 Census shows he has a 'sister in law" named Mildred (born abt 1860 in
Germany) as resident in his home. Mildred indicated she was widowed.
Julius was vet of Civil War service, 2nd PA Regiment, lived last several years in Danville
Illinois at the Old Soldier's Home., is buried in the Danville Veterans Cemetery in
Illinois, deceased July 1913. {Maybe Mildred was his wife?]
Daniel, George and Julius also had sisters:

Lancaster PA to a man named Strebig.
Anyone with information about any of these families, I would be most interested in hearing
from you. Will share what I have.
