Subject: [MARION COUNTY, IN] John Musgrave
John MUSGRAVE b ca 1800 in KY married Jane unk b between 1806 and
1810
also
in KY. They were in Marion Co IN by 1839 when John is noted in
Probate
records as receiving payment for digging graves. It appears that this was
his occupation until his death in 1848 of smallpox. Jane marries 2)
William
Hull in 1849.
John and Jane had the following children: David F., Sarah Ann ma Zadock
Dougherty, Walton ma Olive Smith, Moses ma Jane unk, Philip D. (a Dr.
according to Darlington's Mortality Record) John Tyler, Mary Jane ma Issac
Marchant in 1859, and Oramel Lucious ma to Anne Rippetoe in 1871 in
Indpls.
Their deaths present an interesting phenomenon. Moses age late 30s and
Sarah
age 52, both die in 1873. Walton died in 1874, age 43, and Philip
died in
1875 age 39. Was their an epidemic or ? in Indianapolis during this time?
Does anyone recognize this family? They are MOST definitely my "brick
wall."
