My great-great grandfather, Henry ROBINSON enlisted in Co. K, 100th Indiana.
This company was organized in Indianapolis.
Henry's parents were Benjamin & Phebe Maria (KIMBERLY) ROBINSON.
Henry & his wife, Eliza Ann (SELCH) ROBINSON, lived in Middle Township,
Hendricks County, Indiana. Eliza was born in Frankfort, Kentucky, October
22, 1820, and moved with her parents when a child to Johnson County,
Indiana.
Eliza & Henry had five children:
Willard Marion (died as an infant)
Angeline
Morgan Emsley
Peter Nicholas
Martha June
Henry died of typho-malarial fever on 11 August, 1864 in a regimental
hospital outside of Marietta, GA.
After Henry died, Eliza moved to Fairfield, Iowa, where she died some 20
years later. Her monument has her info on one side, and the other side
reads "Wife of Henry ROBINSON, burried [sic] Marietta Georgia." Despite
this, I've been unable to locate his grave.
I have Henry's lineage back many rich generations, but Eliza's back only to
about 1736 . I'd be pleased to meet new cousins.

Immigrated from Nassau, Germany in 1852 as a child, father Jacob, siblings
Morris, Frederick and Peter, mother possibly named Sophia and it is believed
there are other siblings. Trying to locate the naturalization papers and
papers of intent for her father. I have not located the family on the
census but do know that the brothers enlisted in the Civil War. Katherine m.
George Wall in Indpls. in May 1864 so it is obvious that the Speth family
was living there at the time though I have not located them on the 1860
census and I have not looked for them in the city directories as I did not
have enough information at the time I was in Indpls. I am disabled now and
can no longer go back to Indpls. to research though I spent hundreds of
hours in the State Library when I did live there.
I would also be extremely interested in learning more about this regiment as
all three brothers joined it. Could there possibly be photographs in the
various libraries or at Monument Circle. Even photographs that do not
specifically contain their pictures would be helpful. This is apparently
one regiment that very little has been written about, I have not found any
regimental history on the internet other than a list of battles fought.
They did fight at Vicksburg. Morris eventually moved to Kansas City, MO and
died in Ft. Leavenworth, KS while Frederick moved to Chicago, IL. It is
unknown what happened to Peter. He survived the war but cannot be found on
and census records after that time. The father Jacob would have been born
before 1829 and there is no information on Sophia (her name comes from
Katherine's death certificate). I do have the passenger list for the
families arrival.
Morris Speth (Union)
Enlistment:
- Residing in Indianapolis, IN at time of enlistment
- Enlisted on Mar 25 1864 as Private
Mustering information:
- Enlisted into I Company, 26th Infantry (Indiana) on Mar 25 1864
- Mustered out from 26th Infantry (Indiana) on Jan 15 1866 at
Indianapolis, IN
Sources for the above information:
- Report of the Adjutant General of the State of Indiana, (Holloway,
1865-66)
I believe part of the problem with locating information on this family is
due to the many variations the surname can have live in Washington so it is
impossible to look through files. I would truly appreciate any help in
locating these papers.

Julie, here are some websites and I will put their e-mails after the link.
They are both in the almost new stage but your info will help build them up.
More folks should come forward, to add to the provenance or scope of the
over-all big picture here. Where is all your research going to go when you
pass away? If you were sharing it with Marion County links all along, it
will be for all who pass this way! Bob

Dear Bob,
I think we do a good job with books, papers, and maps. Please check out
what we have. Most of our "outside Pittsburgh" materials are on our
directory page:
http://directory.evendon.com
What do you have? If there are materials which we can effectively handle,
we would be happy to receive them, put them up, and then forward them to a
library or elsewhere.
