I am looking for Robert I. Patterson b. 6-26, 1900 and Charles Marsh Patterson b. 9-26, 1897. Both are sons of J. Earl Patterson and born in Muncie, Indiana. Their mother was Jennie Brophey, also of Muncie.
SS death records show that Charles died in Indianapolis in August of 1976.
Family last heard from Charles (known as Marsh) in 1941 in Indianapolis. It's unknown if he lived there but he did visit his half sister there at that time. That half sister stated that Charles was married a number of times and had several children. There was supposedly a set of girl twins, one of which was named Vonica Monica. I believe the other may have been Eugenie Jennie.
Robert I. used Jr. but his grandfather was actually the other Rbt. I. It is unknown if he had any children but family story says he was killed in a rail yard accident, maybe in Indianapolis.
I would dearly love to connect to their descendants.
New to your list,
Shirley
Muncie
Nan asked:
>Do you have the names of any of William's brothers or sisters that might

I've never found mention of any siblings for William. In the 1880 census,
his father was shown as being born in KY and is mother in Indiana, but in
the 1900 census both of his parents were shown being born in IN.
>There are Hobson's in the 1850 census in Parke County, Indiana, with a
>William who was born ca 1840 and the family originated in North Carolina.

I think that may be Ruth Newlin Hobson, widow of William Hobson. However,
her son William Jr. married Jane/Martha Woody on 2-18-1864 and had at least
one child named John. In addition, he died on 5-31-1870 while my William
lived until 1908.

Subject: [MARION COUNTY, IN] Naturalizations
Hi List,
I could use some help here. My ggg-grandfather was naturalized in abt 1882
according to census records. I contacted the NARA to get the records and
they said they were being held locally. I have looked in the indexes at the
Indiana State Library and no mention was made of him.
I need help as to how to proceed from here. His name was George Wall, b.
1835 in Canada and immigrated in the 1850's. He married in Indianapolis to
Katherine Spath/Spaeth (WPA indexes have it both ways) and had a large
family.
Thank you

Nan, do you by chance know if any of the records kept in the archives go as
far back as the early to mid 1880s? The family bible says that my
great-grandfather William Perry Hobson was born in Marion County on July
20, 1841, but I've not been able to find a record of his birth. I'm hoping
to obtain the names of his parents from the record.
Thanks,
Dee
