I have Asa and Sarah Fowler with children Rosanna
(my great-grandmother), Charles, Robert, Harriet,
Maria and Amanda. Children born between 1833 and
1850, oldest three children born in Ohio; last
three in Indiana. Are any of these familiar? I
don't have a great deal of information on them,
but I'm happy to share what I have.

In the hope that someone new may be able to help, I'm again asking if
anyone can tell me how to find a death date for my great-aunt Peggy -
Margaret Chandler Johnson -- who lived in Indianapolis for most of her
adult life. I believe she died in the 1970's, but have no death date.
We went to Indianapolis last year and searched newspaper reels, records,
and anything we could access with no luck. There was a Margaret C.
Johnson who died there, if I remember correctly, in the 1960's, but
this is not mine. I haven't found her on the Social Security Death
Index. She worked for a few years as a hairdresser. Aunt Peggy 's
husband was Ora O. Johnson, and they had one son, Robert, born about
1915. Margaret was adopted in Rockport, Illinois, by a couple named
Chandler ( book publisher) after her parents were killed in the "Great
Cyclone" in St. Louis in 1896. She was born Sept. 20, 1891, to Thomas
and Rosa O'Brien.
Thanks for any help.

Hi Kristine:
I believe the replies regarding the Jewish Cemetery were for Joy. Now to
your question - it looks like Alexander may have been married twice. The
first listing is his application and the second is the marriage to
Charlotte, and the third listing is Charlotte's application and the fourth
listing is presumably the second marriage to Bertha.

Hello, my name is Kristine Reetz and I had inquired about a marriage between
Alexander J. Tepe and Charlotte Pfau and then later between Bertha Hoffa and
Alexander J. Tepe. I am especially interested in obtaining their parents'
names.
Anyway, I believe some "wires got crossed," because my inquiry was not about
the Jewish cemetery in Indianapolis. My name is Kristine Reetz and I live
in
Boulder, Colorado.
Can you tell me where to direct my inquiry?
Thank you, Kristine Reetz

Hello! The primary Jewish Cemetery dating to the time you are asking about, is just south of Pleasant Run Blvd and South Meridian Street at Southern Ave. It covers a couple of city blocks and is gated. I go by there on my way home and could probably find some time to get you a contact there if you wish. Please let me know!

My relatives are also buried in Jewish Cem. I am no expert on this, but
there seem to be several cemeteries together. Where my ancestors are is
Shara Tefilla (S. Meridian & Kelley St) very near Shapiro's Deli. A couple
years ago I talked to a man in charge of the cemetery. At that time he told
me 'they' were doing transcriptions. I don't know what happened about that
and sadly don't have his number any more.
If anyone knows more, I'd appreciate hearing about it and also where the
records can be located.
Thanks,
Marcia Snyder

I'm searching for any information about William H. Arnold. From his birth
certificate, William was born on September 3, 1889 in Marion County, Indiana
to Sam and Emma Arnold. The last information I have shows William living
with his parents in 1900 in Shelby County, Indiana. He disappeared after
1900. Any and all leads greatly appreciated.
