Thanks for checking.
I know they lived in Daviess County, Indiana in 1860, and in
Indianapolis in 1870. I also know he mustered out of the Union army
early in 1865. I was thinking that he may have gone straight to
Indianapolis.

Hi George in MA,
According to The Indianapolis Star, 20 Nov 1914, pg.1
"Louis Hollweg, proprietor of the firm of
Hollweg & Reese, wholesale china and
glassware dealers, will retire from the
firm on Jan. 1, and will divide his stock
among a number of his old and trusted
employes....
Mr. Hollweg is one of the pioneer busi-
ness men of Indianapolis.... also has an
interest in the wholesale dry goods firm of
Hibben, Hollweg & Co. He will retain his
connection with this firm....... Mr.
Hollweg will spend most of his time at
his residence, 963 North Meridian street...
It is a long article with lots more detail but
as you can see, he as alive at this date.
According to the Crown Hill Cemetery website
there are two Louis Hollweg's, presumably
father and son. One was buried 8/26/1925
and the other 7/8/1930.
I don't have any more time, at the moment to
do any more than that. Hope that helps,
- Ed
Hello List -
Louis Hollweg lived and worked in Indianapolis from about 1866 through
1910. He was 69 years old in 1910 and doesn't appear in the 1920 Census
report. Might someone have a death index for this period of time and look up his
date of death?
If there is no index, where are death records recorded for Marion
County? Thanks for what ever help you may be able to provide.
George in MA
My mother worked as a bookkeeper for Hibben-Hollweg into the 1930's, but I don't remember if they closed are were sold.

Hello list -
I am trying to determine the fate of a wholesale dry goods and jobber
firm - Hibben, Hollweg & Co., South Meridian Street, Indianapolis. The key
partner, Harold Hibben, died in 1916 and I believe his son, Harold, and
son-in-law managed the firm at least through 1920.
I am hoping that someone has access to phone books, business directories
or other documents which might shed light on the existence of the firm in
subsequent years. Also, if someone knows of municipal records which might
document the firm and its management, please advise.
Thanks for your help and sharing whatever info you might have.
George in MA
Nancy,
Thanks for the suggestion. I may have found Thomas there, but no Nancy. I`ll
keep hunting.

Bill,
You might also want to try the Crown Hill Cemetery Burial Locater website and see if they are buried there. My maternal great grandfather and family are there and it is an enormous facility--largest in Indy and that I have ever seen. Just Google Crown Hill Cemetery, Indy--the locater is accessed from their home page.

I am hoping someone in Marion Co can help me. I am trying to find a range of
death for my ancestors so I can get a death certificate. I have found them
on the 1920 census in Indianapolis.
Can anyone do a lookup for me with the city directories for the 1920`s and
early 1930`s, any year to find Thomas and Nancy Wilson for me? I do thank
you for any help that can be provided to me.
